SAND CITY, Monterey County — October 26, 2026. Sand City is updating its long-range General Plan through 2050 and is still seeking community feedback on the draft Guiding Principles. The city says the principles build on the 2019 Vibrancy Plan, 2021 Sustainable Transportation Plan, 2023 West End Parking Plan and the 2024 certified Housing Element.
The municipality has completed an initial workshop but the Guiding Principles Survey remains available for review and comment. Residents can study goals affecting housing, development, business vitality, street access and coastal character before future policies are drafted. A survey is a way to shape priorities, not a referendum on an adopted zoning ordinance or approval of a developer’s project. The city also offers targeted business-owner and employee feedback on its Economic Development Element; businesses can review the separate questionnaire. Dates of final adoption have not been established by this general program notice.
Primary municipal source: City of Sand City project resources. Planning projections are not completed-project claims.
